Visual Internet Setup For Windows 98

Print this out and you have your own visual tech guide. Keep it handy just in case you ever need to set Windows ME back up with BestWeb. It includes everything you need to get up and out on the Internet.

1. Open My Computer

2. Open Control Panel

3. Open Internet Options


4. Click on the Connections tab, click on the Setup button.


5. Select " I want to set up my Internet Connection manually, or I want to connect through a local area network (LAN)." Press Next.


6. Select "I connect through a Phone Line and a Modem". Press Next.


7. Uncheck "Dial using the area code and country code". Enter the Dial-in number for the appropiate area. Click on Advanced and enter 209.94.100.100 and 209.94.100.200 for the DNS servers.


Name the connection "BestWeb".


If you wish to setup an Internet mail account select Yes and click Next.


Type in the name you wish to be sent with your e-mails.


Enter your username and password. Press Next.


Enter your e-mail address and press Next.


Select POP3 server for the Server type. Enter our incoming mail server address, pop.bestweb.net, in the Incoming (POP3) field. Enter our outgoing mail server address, smtp.bestweb.net, in the Outgoing (SMTP) field. Press Next.


Enter your username and password. Press Next.


Uncheck the checkbox and click finish.

Open Internet Options again.


Type www.bestweb.net for the homepage address. Click on the Connections tab.


Double-click the BestWeb connection.


DO NOT click "Use automatic configuration script". Just click Ok.
